I am very disappointed with both the quality of these pants and the way customer service dealt with my grievance. I bought the pants for my husband knowing that it is a "no returns, no exchange" item. Unfortunately, the pants that we got were very odd fitting. Upon closer inspection, we saw that the...re were 2 labels on the pants (one on the inside and one on the outside) and each label indicated a different size. Because of this, we were sure that we got the wrong size pants. I contacted customer service and they were initially very responsive and sent me a return label. After returning the item, I got an email from banana republic stating that the item is non-returnable and my refund request was rejected (they mailed me back the pants). I contacted customer service again thinking that there was some sort of mistake. Unfortunately, they indicated that they looked at the product, determined that there was no problem with the pants and decided to reject my refund request. While it is possible that the item itself is fine, I was quite disappointed by how non-transparent the whole process was. I still have no idea how they came to their conclusion and they could not elaborate or put me in touch with their returns department. In my view, the inconsistency with the labels also clearly indicates that there is some problem with the item. It's quite a shame as I have been a long-term customer of the company but needless to say that I will certainly avoid buying from them again. This is the first negative review I ever wrote in my life but I really think customers should be aware of these issues.
