12" high waisted in front maybe a little high, but I've waited a long time for high waisted jeans to come back into vogue. They differ in material weight and length by wash. The black jean isn't what I'd call denim, but I love them all
I am 5'7 135lbs. I got the light and medium wash in my regular size 27, regular length. The light are too small, too short (1-2 inch above the ankle) and I wouldn't clasify the shape as straight leg. The quality of the denim also did not feel like 99% cotton. Felt like very high elastane denim. The ...medium wash fit perfectly in the waist and legs. A true straight leg fit. The regular length was still too short though hitting awkwardly above the ankle. The feel of the denim is entirely different from the light wash. Feels like solid denim. Not cheap elastic denim.

I really wanted to like these jeans enough to keep them - the quality of the material is great (not like some of those other trending jeans that are kinda thin & over stretchy denim). These ones fit just a bit too baggy for my taste in the hip and thigh area - they aren't fitted there.

gap.com/Really wanted these to work, but the fit isn't right. Ordered 3 different washes in a 14 and 16. The hips are cut too loose for me in both sizes, and the waist feels too snug on the 14. Was looking for jeans with a similar fit to the Abercrombie 90s high rise straight and relaxed straight jeans but in a more professional looking wash. The hips on the BR jeans were too loose which also makes the crotch area baggy and weird looking. But these would probably fit better for a person who's curvier.

The quality was as expected for BR. The fit was adequate thanks to the stretch, I have a harder time with 100% cotton denim due to my waist to hip ratio. I took off one star because the tall length is not offered in my size or even the next 2 sizes up. Not everyone who is tall is also wide, us scrawny gals would also appreciate our jeans reaching below the ankle #sweepstakes

I was able to find them at my local store and I'm glad I did as I went down a size to 26 from my usual 27-28. I wear a lot of black jeans, particularly when traveling for a versatile look with blazers or sweaters.These fit well and don't gap at the waist like many jeans do on me.
